Mac vs PC - Time For A Ceasefire

Here is a letter that I sent to Practical Internet, an English magazine. My letter was published in the magazine and was 'Letter Of The Month' - and they printed a little piccy of my homepage for no apparent reason! They must have just like the design.

I have seen a few letters in 'Back Chat' that complain about the lack of Apple Macintosh related articles. As a Mac user I would say that the Internet is for all computer users, no matter what system software is used and most articles in Practical Internet give information about the Internet which is useful to users of the Mac Operating System, Windows '95 and so on, things like the HTML tutorials, Web site reviews, IAP information.

Over all Practical Internet does provide useful information for all Internet users. There is something for everyone, so I beg users of Macs not to complain about the content of this magazine (or any other Internet related magazine for that matter). The Internet is for everyone to enjoy, and what is the point of arguing about which Operating System is better? Who cares? As a qwerty-pal of mine once typed, "we have the whole world on our desktops." Just think about how lucky you are to have this facility and stop moaning about the lack of Mac articles.

Besides, there was a brilliant feature dedicated to Macintosh machines in Issue 4 of Practical Internet. '50 Net Nightmares Solved' was the best, most wonderful feature about Macintosh computers I have ever seen in any magazine. The fact that Apple Macintosh was not mentioned once must mean that Macs are the better machine so now it is time to stop your moaning and get on with your lives.

Yours, a sincerely happy Mac user
Chris Marshall
